Christ's College

A boys comprehensive school Christ's College was descibed by OFSTED as a place where "the quality of both learning and teaching is high". It is a Church of England School with over 900 boys on the register.

How do you get in?

Fill in borough application form PS1 before November. 85% of places are given under LEA criteria - priority is given in order to:

1. Boys for whom a statement of special educational needs has been made under the Education Act 1996 or is likely to be made, and for whom the school has been named in that statement or is likely to be named. 2. Boys who, when places are allocated, have a brother in years 7-11 of the school, or in years 12-13 if they previously attended in years 7-11 for at least one year. 3. Sons of present school staff who are normally employed for a minimum of 10 hours per week. Headteachers will have the direction to include sons, or in years 12-13 if they previously attended in years 7-11 for at least one year. 3. Remaining places are offered on a geographical basis measuring distance in a straight line from the school.

Up to 15% of places are offered under Governors' criteria: 1. sons of former pupils of Christ's College, 2. Sons of previous staff of Christ's college.

In the event of their being more pupils eligible for consideration than there are places available, preference will be given on a geographical basis, using a map and measuring distance in a straight line from the school.
